270/365
Hello Uni. Goodbye life. Turns out (rather inevitably) that Second Year is only going to get more busy. First project is a little presentation on Rubislaw Terrace, so I got my sketch on today and did a few pages of work.

In more exciting news, badminton started back tonight, so I went and got lost in sports direct (it's like a jungle of trackies), bought some new shorts and acted like a proper 7 year old at the club. People probably won't come back.

P.S. Sex
(sorry mum, peer pressure n'all)

269/365

Day 269
Ready for going back to University. I'm all excited for it! I'm hoping this is all I'm going to need on the first day back, and I hope they're not too horrible to us. The journal (on the bottom left) was a bargain at £3.50 from paperchase, hopefully I won't wreck it like past efforts... I also went to see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy today. Very very good film, with some class acting and a fantastic musical score. And then for some lunch, a coffee, and a visit to my soulmate's flat.

268/365

Day 268
Snoozy snoozy snooze. Too much work, too little sleep and two very sore feet mean that I basically collapsed into bed tonight. Could be down to the fact that we had another staff meeting at 9am, and that I basically had to run to the beach because my alarm didn't work. We did, however, get to sample the new flavours of cookie doughs at this meeting. You, my friends, are in for a treat!

267/365

Day 267
N'yawww. Natalie, who's stuff has been residing in our flat all summer, came to pick it up today, and as a present she gave us both mugs, and me this little bottle of Bulgarian perfume. It smells like parma violets. Other than that, I'm pretty sure you can use your brains and figure out what I did today. First word Pizza, second word Hut.

266/365

Day 266
Got this snap on the way home from town early this morning. Safe to say the combination of Noah and the Whale and vodka resulted in a typical girly squeal from myself. Grandma and Granda came over (and I attempted to disguise my hangover) and dropped of a substantial package of food and other delights. Then it was to work, just to set me up for the mad weekend I've got ahead of me. Eugh, go away Pizza Hut.

265/365

Day 265
Return of the pub quiz, and a victorious return for our team! Unfortunately, because the it's the first week, the prize kitty was just £10. Between 7 of us. Oh well, I'm never one to turn down money! Here's a snap of me competing in the limbo round, where I came 2nd out of 9 (or something). Caught the pole with my knuckle, goddammit. Other hilarity included Scooby getting a bit too up-close and personal with an inflatable crab, and a giant inflatable corona bottle.

264/365

Day 264
It was affa difficult to pick a picture for tonight, there were simply so many taken. I chose this one because it doubles as a game of "spot the most drunken person". I'm voting the one on the far right, who even is he?! Haha. It was our flatwarming tonight, and despite a rather tepid turn up it was still good banter, involving pizza hut stickers, shots, my glowy ball thing, bread, absinthe, early drunken food and, of course, like all good nights, Exo.

263/365

Day 263
Quite possibly the best photo ever. Toga night was fantastic fun, even if I did end up stabbing myself with pins multiple times and with a mystery bruise on my ankle. When this photo was originally taken, we referred to the girl next to me as "tiny". Turns out we had severe beer goggles on...

262/365

Day 262
After my first table shift (in which I only had 7 tables and still managed to make £7 in tips, BOOST) I joined forces with some other 'techts and had a pretty decent night out. Wandered home with my soulmate, visited her flat and then made nachos with bbq sauce and cheese for my supper. At 3am. I love freshers week.

261/365

Day 261
Second night of Fresher's featured nowhere near the levels of excitement of the first. After work (9 hours. Again. I love you, Pizza hut) I made good on my promise and made some "eyecatching" signs for badminton. C'mon, you can't say you didn't giggle a little. Pretty much free for the week now though, apart from my FIRST TABLE SHIFT TOMORROW NIGHT. Yes, ladies and gents, they are finally trusting me to serve food to people and take orders. Possibly a mistake.

260/365

Day 260
FRESHERS WEEK!
Kicked off with Jenn's flatwarming, which I went to straight after an absolutely dire shift at work (hence the Pizza Hut kids cup in my hand. It had wine in it). It was a rather fun night out filled with dinosaurs, kettles, new friends and phonecalls. And stupid dancing to "Moves Like Jagger", a song that I shouldn't really like but can't help to rather enjoy when I've had a glass of wine...

259/365

Day 259
Got my creative hat on again today and made the banner for the Badminton stall at Fresher's Fayre. Having seen pictures of some of the stalls from last year, I'm quietly confident that this will be one of the best on show, and will hopefully pull in some new faces for the club! Should hopefully get some posters done too. Maybe with a slight play on the work shuttlecock. Damn I'm witty...

258/365

Day 258
I've got quite a bad track record for crying during films. Nothing ridiculous, just maybe empathising a bit too much with the protagonists and shedding a tear. Or absolutely bawling at the last Harry Potter. Either way, it clearly wasn't a brilliant idea for me to watch Schindler's List. Absolutely brilliant film, but this picture is exactly what I looked like at the conclusion of the film. Never has my make up run to this extent before.

257/365

Day 257
I discovered a new hangover cure today: Buy a new guitar! Well, not new, second hand from Darren, but let's be honest, it's in far better nick than my current acoustic. And, ohhh, it's got a pick up so there's nothing stopping me from hitting the acoustic nights. Apart from my inability to sing. Slight hurdle there.

256/365

Day 256
Today was one of my favourite days of the year so far. So good, infact, that I shall split it into two halves and treat you with 2 photographs. You lucky devil, you. First of all, I went to the cinema (Fright Night, if you care) with Jonny, then to Waterstones to sit in the cafe and look all cultured while discussing books, and then to La Tasca for some tapas and wine. And that's where the day splits. The wine we had with the meal lead on to more wine, and then another glass. Which took us to the Monkey House for more wine, in bigger glasses. Urp. The consequences of which were:
Day 256 (and a half)
On to the Union for yet more wine (and vodka, and red bull, and whatever else) and then to exo for my first Motown in a considerable amount of time.

Film, Books, Tapas, Wine, Exo.
How could a day get any better?

255/365

Day 255
Today was a recovery day. Which is why the photograph is another stalker picture of Gavin. Who is watching "Young, Dumb and Living Off Mum", our favourite new programme because it makes us feel like we're being successful with our lives. I also went into town today and spent £60, but as a result I got 2 tops, a skirt, a CD and 2 DVDs. Succesful skinflint work there, I think.

254/365

Day 254
After my 12 hour day at work, I still managed to muster the energy and enthusiasm to accompany a rather tanned Mr Elsmlie to the Old Schoolhouse for a few ciders to mark his triumphant return from the land of alcohol (Kavos). Safe to say after 2 bottles of utterly fantastic Strawberry and Lime Kopparberg, I was feeling pretty snoozy.

253/365

Day 253
After a busy 9 hour shift at the hut, this is not what I want to see on my alarm clock as I set it for tomorrow. Stupid staff meeting at the beach at 9am means I need to get up at stupid o'clock (bear in mind, once I'm back at uni this will be the standard wake up time..). There's really not much to be said about today. People came to eat pizza. I ruined their day by telling them it was a half hour wait for a table. Standard.

252/365

Day 252
I am far too proud of this. The health kick of late has been based around eating my 5-a-day, and I've managed at least that for a week now. Well, assuming mushrooms are vegetables. Which they are, aren't they? It's an easier task when I'm at work and I get to chow down on a salad bowl for my lunch, but I've been stocking up on carrots for snacking too. And y'know what? I feel healthier for it, surprise surprise!

251/365

Day 251
Gavin's face off with the donuts. This was the result of him being healthy and cycling to the beach (and along the beach. And back) and stopping off at the shops. The challenge lasted a while, but about an hour later there were only 2 left. Today we also went out to visit my grandparents for lunch, where twice they called Gavin "Jonathan". Awkward.

250/365

Day 250
Yes, that's my new student I.D. And that's my face. The observant amongst you may notice that they look absolutely nothing alike. Slightly awkward. I no longer have a full fringe, look like a raging emo, and I seem to have grown a nose in the space of a year. I was going to ask for a new photo but it cost £10, so screw that! I'm too much of a cheapskate for that. Not much else was acheived today but it doesn't matter because the walk to Garthdee was enough. And I'm planning to walk to uni everyday in 2nd year. I'll be super fit come christmas...

249/365

Day 249
Another day chilling in the flat, but only after a trip around the majority of Rosemount's charity shops. And spending £89 on the world's nicest duffel coat. Upon our return from town, I made bread while Gavin made a series (or a zoo if you prefer) of animals from clay and proceeded to burn them in the oven. Classic flat banter, acting like 3 year olds.

248/365

Day 248
Not a great deal was achieved today. Louise popped round to see the flat, and I went on a run. Gavin's brought his bike back with him, and at the moment it's living in his room because he's too scared to put it in the hallway.

247/365

Day 247
Gavin's back in his office, I'm no longer rattling around the flat on my own! Any longer and I probably would have started talking to myself. Just another day at the Hut, but I'm off for 4 days now so I was in a pretty chirpy mood. Oh, and I finally sent away my tax form, so hopefully sometime soon they'll realise I'm a student and give me a lovely little rebate!

246/365

Day 246
The sky was on fire as I left the hut tonight, it seems. I spent some of my time today training up a newbie, to take over from me at the host stand! As much as I'm looking forward to tables, I'm quite sad to be moving from the role at the door, I almost feel I've made it my own... Just kidding, think of the tips!

245/365

Day 245
Before my triumphant return to the Hut, however, I went to visit Louise in her beautiful new flat. It really is rather nice, with lots of modern stuff and a huge comfy sofa. Afterwards, I hobbled back to my flat (wearing in new boots is such a chore) and picked up my uniform, before a rather calm shift at work. Ah, back to the coalface...

244/365

Day 244
Oh, hello new wonderful folky boots! While Jonny went last minute shopping for holiday clothes (typical, eh?) I indulged myself in some new footwear, cause, y'know, I'm definitely lacking in shoes. Heh... I also bought myself some new headphones, because the purple beauties which had lasted me so well started to act up and only give me one ear's worth of tunes. The new ones are red, and sound absolutely brilliant. This was my last day of holidays, because tomorrow I'm back at the Hut. I'm almost looking forward to it. Almost.

243/365

Day 243
I did very little with my day today, but my evening was action packed. Well...
Went for dinner at TGI Fridays, which was fatty, greasy, salty and rather enjoyable. Then we indulged ourselves in a rather tame pub crawl involving Slain's Castle, The Wild Boar and the Union. All this while nursing a sore leg which had bled for most of the morning because I bashed it off my chest of drawers. A nice refined night, shows I don't always get drunk and make a fool of myself, eh!

242/365

Day 242
I know this isn't the best photograph, so allow me to transcribe for you. The top line reads:
"18:45 Aberdeen expected 20:28"
Yes ladies and gentlemen, my train back to Aberdeen was more than an hour and a half late. Got to love East Coast Trains. This meant I didn't make it back to my lovely flat until quarter past 11. And I wasted the majority of my evening in Fife. Oh well, no more visits home until after University starts again, I'm rather looking forward to designing again!

241/365

Day 241
Awww Tommy, you fat little ball of fur, that is still making me sneeze. Today I took another trip to Dunfermline for my regular catch up with Aileen and Kirstie. Nothing could have prepared us for the trauma that followed a casual trip to Poundstretcher (Classy, I know) to look for cheap homeware. A junkie screaming, swearing, smashing stuff up and threatening a member of staff right in front of our faces certainly shocked us slightly. We'd be rubbish in a disaster scenario.

Oh, and happy 3 months Jonny. I'm impressed you've lasted this long with my bizarre ramblings!

240/365

Day 240
Well, these look disgusting, don't they? One of the many variety of drinks to pass between my lips on the Edinburgh night out. I seem to remember this was Chambord and Bailey's. It curdled in your stomach, whatever it was. It was at about this point in the evening that Jonny decided to take himself outside for a tactical chunder (credit to him, he lasted the night) and Iona and Niki departed for other pursuits. That sounds worse than I meant it to. We stayed out until 5am, had a Maccy D's on the trek back to the flat, slept on a floor (which was wonderfully comfortable) and watched "Aliens" in the morning. Ahhh, ace night out.

239/365

Day 239
Another night out, my social life has taken a definite upturn since I came home. Niki, Iona and myself went for a Pizza Hut (the food really isn't that enjoyable) in Edinburgh, then met up with Jonny, Ritchie and Finnigan to see Patrick in "Godspell" at the fringe. Then we went to the Tron, The Globe and finally C Venue. There are literally bazillions of photos to choose from for today's post, because the guys decided to try and use up all my memory. My camera holds 4000 photos. Wasn't ever going to happen, was it? This is possibly my favourite though, as I look like a fat, disinterested yob, and Jonny looks like an over-excited 4 year old. And is that a cheeky nipple rub?

238/365

Day 238
Can't believe I've made it nearly two thirds of the way through the year without mentioning the wonderful Tommy. Who I seem to be allergic to, curses! I'm not exaggerating, about 45% of my time since returning to Dalgety Bay has been spent sneezing. Today I also went into the High School to pester the art department, went to the dentist, and for a Watson family meal out. I lead such a rock 'n' roll life.

237/365

Day 237
Another excitement and fun-filled day in Fife! I was actually quite busy, I'm not just being my typically sarcastic self. Went up town with Niki and Luke for a coffee (and to tell dearest Donald just to give me a sodding ISA - I got one.) and then went through to Aberdour for a little round of the pubs with Alex. He drank Cointreau and Lemonade, I drank cider. Who's more masculine? It's me, isn't it? It always is...

236/365

Day 236
My dearest father took me in to the Fringe today, for some good ol' comedy. Jon Richardson, Alun Cochrane and Seann Walsh were our comedians of choice, and not a bad selection they were! Also went for a quick drink at Tiles, and bought some DVDs in Fopp. I do miss Edinburgh sometimes, but I think I'd probably be sick of it if I went to uni there. Oh, and I dislike how persuasive the people at the bank can be. Damnit Donald, I just want a ruddy ISA.

235/365

Day 235
Beautiful Scotland, everyone! Got the train home this morning, back to Fife for a week! I'm going to be pretty busy when I'm home I reckon, got plans in formation for most days. Oh, and I won't be surprised if I return to Aberdeen weighing three times my current weight, because the novelty of a full cupboard will not wear off.

234/365

Day 234
I do believe I have identified our next main threat to national security. Gavin Douglas everyone! I found the travel card in the holdall I'm stealing for my trip home. Spent the majority of my day packing, tidying, cleaning, and making sure there wasn't anything in the fridge that could support a colony of bacteria in my absence. And then I went to badminton and played rather averagely.
