Back to Aberdeen (well, Inverurie) before Hogmany today. Popped in past the Aberdeen Watsons (got some more vouchers and a hefty amount of chocolate) then went over to the Grandparents, where we bumped into the Gibson and I managed to get myself a nice bottle of wine! Other than that I basically just sat about the house, slouching, doing a teeny bit of revision and very little else. Oh, and I got to sleep on the airbed which was a) uncomfortable and b) difficult, it's like sleeping on a balloon. Infact, it was so bad that I actually took myself to sleep on the sofa instead. No matter, back to Rosemount tomorrow for the night, hello comfy beds!

Day 362

Played my guitar for the majority of the day today (yes, I'm definitely getting close to open mic night standards... kidding!) and then popped along to the pub in Aberdour at night to catch up with Alex over a quiet drink. And, for a change, it WAS a quiet drink. I can hear you judging me, get off your high horse.

Day 361

Hit the sales properly today. The alarm was set for 7am, and we left for Edinburgh at 9. There wasn't a great deal to be said for what was available in the shops, but I managed to power through and buy a pair of shorts, a jumper and a watch. We walked the length of Princes Street twice and Jennifer spent a small fortune in Urban Outfitters. We were home for lunch, and then me and Dad went for our annual walk across the bridge. It rained on the way back, but it was still a good way to start eating into the billions of extra calories consumed over the past few days. Oh, and at night I went on a run and I went too soon after dinner and I didn't feel particularly good afterwards

Day 360

Jennifer's face! boxing day today, which is always terribly anti-climatic. We popped to Dunfermline for some initial sale shopping (new heels and bedclothes) and then I cracked open the books and started revising. Oh, and I snuck a little shot on the ole rowing machine (it's not old, it's actually new and it had real life 100% WATER in it) and I was surprised that I didn't so myself an injury.

Day 359
(Until earlier today, I was working on a faulty blog. I'd missed out 306 and 319, not as pictures but as numbers if you get me, so I as two days ahead... It's fixed now though! Only took me and hour or so...)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Yes, despite a complete lack of snow and temperatures warmer than October, it's Christmas time, and according to this photo in the Watson household that means wearing men's jumpers from Primark. Obviously. Jennifer dearest got me this and a make up bag, and my parents got me all sorts, including Portfolio Sleeves (ayyyy!), owl shaped bookends and lots of Berlin guides for the trip in March. Jonny showed a creative side (shock horror!) with a wonderful book of guitar music that he hand picked and re-wrote, and tickets to see the stunning Laura Marling. All in all a rather ace haul.
As is expected, the entirety of the day was spent eating, with the occasional break to put on different clothes, watch a film or read. All awfully strenuous activites, as you can tell. Luckily (yes, luckily), I didn't accumulate too much chocolate, and so the threat to my waistline that is Christmas should pass unnoticed!

Day 358

Christmas Eve! We, traditionally, did very little today. A quick trip up to Dunfermline for a coffee, then back to the Bay for an afternoon spent playing Rayman (like it's 1999), drinking mulled wine and watching films. Spending the day like the Baby Jesus intended. Although I'm not feeling particularly Christmassy, I'm not that bothered, tomorrow should be good no matter how I feel!

Day 357
And finally a day of doing very little. I went on a run this morning, bonded with Tommy and promised the strange man wasn't here anymore, went up town for my lunch and then cracked on with this blog. You may have noticed I was about a month and a half behind, WELL I CAUGHT UP! Oh, and I got my haircut, it looks exactly the same.

356/365
Day 356

Yet another busy day, but not busy in a bad way. Firstly, me and Jonny went up to Kirkcaldy for lunch, before he got the train back to Aberdeen. Following this, I wandered off to Abby's house for a little fyo reunion and just a general catch up. THEN as if I hadn't been social enough, I got a message from Niki asking me to the clubhouse for some cocktails. Today was a brilliant day for catching up with people, I'm hoping it's not a full year before I see them again!

Day 355

Today was one of my favourite days of the year. We went in to Edinburgh, had lunch at the Elephant House (Where J.K.Rowling wrote Harry Potter), then went for a wander around the museum which opened in summer (and played on all the toys like children, not university students), went to Costa in Waterstones for another coffee/tea, and then had a wander and a waffle at the German Christmas Market before returning on the bus to Dalgety Bay where my mother served up an astounding sausage casserole. I could get used to this sort of lifestyle, shame Jonny leaves tomorrow.

Day 354

I'm back in Fife. Got the train home about lunchtime, and bade it back to my house around 3 ish, not too shabby. May I also say thank you to Jonny for the panic he put me through when he HILARIOUSLY texted me saying he'd slept in this morning. Not cool. By the time his "I'm joking!" text came through, I'd already phoned him... Ownback was delivered however, when the boy sitting opposite us on the train had to help him with hangman, which was only "Fright Night". Although my parents seemed to enjoy his company at our dinner out tonight, the same can't be said for the cats, who seem to foster a hatred for the "scary stranger man" and won't even stay in the same room as him. Haha. Oh, and my entire family seem hyper about the fact he's here too. Calm it lads.

353/365
Day 353

As our reward for cleaning the flat (Christmas music makes it a lot more fun, trust us) me and Gavin had "biscuit night", where we drank hot chocolate, watched "The Muppets Christmas Carol" and "The Grinch" and, as the name suggests, ate biscuits. I am finally feeling Christmassy, despite the snow disappearing today and the temperatures slowly climbing. Home tomorrow!

Day 352
Snow! Awww, look at it. I'm finally starting to feel slightly christmassy, it's only been what, 20 days... It wasn't much, and I didn't exactly get to experience it what with my day at the hut, but it was nice all the same. I got in tonight and practically collapsed into my bed. My feet were so sore that I could hardly stand. I've definitely pushed myself to the limit this week, I better figure out a better way to do it next semester...One more day in Aberdeen, then it's Fife for the rest of the year (apart from one final day)

Day 351
We all look remarkably sober here! Not. Our night continued to Pearl Lounge (my first time there) and concluded with a lot of hugging, emotional goodbyes and a trip to the guys in Imagine. I think they know me now, not a good thing. It's safe to say work today was a total killer, especially since I was hosting again (So. Much. Rage) but at the end I went to Frankie and Benny's then to see the new Sherlock Holmes (which is fantastic!) Oh, to have free time again. Wait, I'm working a 12-9 tomorrow. Bugger.

Day 350

FINISHED!
Finally, we've done it. And it actually went pretty well, they seemed to appreciate some of the choices we made. We took the decision to go to the pub for dinner rather than cook for ourselves, and then we went home, had a nap and then headed to Janey's to get really rather drunk. It wasn't even midnight and we were singing Christmas songs.
SILVER BELLS, SILVER BEEEEEELLLLLLLS.

Day 349

And it's pinned up! In all its glory! Oh, and there's a cheeky wee snap of Neil Lamb too. It was almost a good thing that our pin up was today rather than tomorrow, because it meant that I got a chance to head home and work on the verbal presentation for tomorrow, so I can hopefully really really sell it. 24 more hours and it's over. I have never looked forward to anything as much as this project being over.

Day 348

See, I did make it in early! This is our completed block model (thank you Andy) and today we got a lot of other stuff finished too. Including my 1:50 section which is one of the best things I have done ever. You'll get to see it tomorrow when I post the picture of our final presentation in all its glory. I then left uni early AGAIN to head to work, then left work, pizza in hand, and headed home for some more work. I was up until 3am, only stopped by my drunken idiot of a boyf turning up after losing all his friends in town. Note to self: drunk people and laptops don't mix, they'll only press buttons. Other note to self: Always save. You were lucky this time.

Day 347

Okay okay, so I seem to be moaning a lot about how much work I have to do, then posting pictures of me doing things other than work. Trust me, I do actually spend the majority of my life in studio, but I like to take more pictures when I actually get out into the big bad world. It was our work night out tonight: A three course meal at TGI Fridays, 2 games at the Bowling, then into town for a drink in TKs and then to Exo. Although Exo was super busy so we went to Korova instead, which was actually really really good! Christmas music, foam machine and banter. I did leave early however, as I have to be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to make it to uni and to make up for my leaving early tonight.

Day 346

Today I walked home from uni. Today it absolutely bucketed. I got soaked. As you can tell, it made me very happy. The end is in sight, we're into the last week at uni! Even if we do badly on Friday, then we have at least a few weeks to console ourselves at our failure and sleep. And sleep and sleep and sleep and sleep.

Day 345

I'm a lad. Look at my pose, what am I even thinking?! Anyhow, last night was the best night out in a while, even if the police did come and talk to Jonny while he was outside suffering from heartburn ("I was playing Angry Birds, honest!"). However, once I got home I got these awful awful pains in my ribs, to the extent I had to go ad lie flat out on my bedroom floor and breathe very slowly til they went away. Paracetamol and everything, and I rarely take paracetamol. Even better, Jonny woke up, saw I was in pain, cared for a millisecond then fell to sleep again. So caring... Jokes, jokes.

Day 344

Impromtu night out for the win! Tonight it was my Uncles 50th, so I attended with my parents, drank nice wine and then scrabbled around for other people in town so my slight drunkeness didn't go to waste... I found the guys in Slains, had some more drinks, and then like usual we headed to Korova. Oh, and I shall also list my injuries at the moment:
A burn on my foot from dropping boiling water
A burn on my face from the same water incident
A HUGE chunk of skin off my ankle from a lack of skill while shaving
3 gashes on my arm from a falling guitar...
I was rocking the "plaster" look in town tonight...

Day 343

I feel it is time for a dedication, as we reach a time late into the year and late into the semester. Dear coffee, you have seen me through thick and thin, and have always been there to provide me with a much needed caffeine boost when the going gets tough and my mind gets sleepy. Lattes, Cappuccinos, Americanos and Mochas, I just want to say thank you very much. I hope we never do part. Sincerely, Katie.
In other news, today I did uni (surprise surprise, I won't go into details, I'm sure you can fill in the blanks) then Jonny cooking me this ACE chicken and tomato and pesto and basil and creme fraiche thing and then we watched Harry Potter with a duvet on my sofa. Best way to deal with stress.

Day 342

Today it struck me. The problem recently has been that I've been trying to decide on the layout of our apartments, but on CAD. It's just not the way to do it! So instead I wapped the pencil out and got sketching, and boy oh boy did I make some progress. Changed the circulation so that the lucky buggers that will live in our flats get direct access from the lift into their livingrooms (sweet, eh?) And gave them a little study up a step. Mmmmmm.

341/365
Day 341

I BOUGHT A HAT! Look how happy it makes me, just look! There's nothing better than a bobble on your head, no joke. I had my first close at work tonight, which shows that they must finally trust me, haha. Decent tips as well as a nice pizza when I finished. I'm pretty sure my stomach has shrunk recently though, I struggled to eat my regular pizza and I didn't even look at the crusts! This was a nice day to just gather my thoughts before the onslaught that is sure to be the run up to pin up. I don't even want to think about it.

340/365
Day 340

And like I said, here's some more evidence of how uni = my life these days. Such a killer. We had another presentation today, to the clients again, but this time I let Andy do it. Hmm. Oh well! I reckon we'll (somehow) be able to get everything done for next Friday, it's a pin up again instead of a powerpoint, which will mean extra stress with the printing, urp! Tonight was my last night at badminton too, because our staff night out is next week. Man, I love badminton.

339/365
Day 339

It seems the guys are finally taking this project seriously, climbing on top of existing buildings to get snapshots of the views from our proposed first floor. This is the kinda of thing I've been trying to get out of them for weeks, I didn't even ask them to do this! Also a couple of ridiculously boring lectures today, and then a long long long days work in the basement (because we got chucked out of our studio) for the presentation tomorrow.

Day 338

So, as I'm sure you can tell, this wasn't taken today. This photo has been chosen because I forgot my camera today when me and Jonny went for a ace meal for out 6 month anniversary (which was Tuesday). Geeeeezo that's a long time, and this was taken on the first night we really talked. I like to think I don't look so gimpy now...

337/365
Day 337

Hello yet another photograph of Rubislaw Terrace. It's on the way back to mine from my cousins though, which worked out dandy. Got a smashing 11 hours sleep, so I'm all rejuvenated for some hardcore work for the next 2 weeks. Hey, it'll all be over soon enough! Worked tonight too, which was actually enjoyable. It's nice to forget about all this "building" business now and again...

336/365
Day 336

Last minute phototaking for a review which went probably as badly as anything I've done before. I'm not joking, I was actually on the edge of tears the entire time, I'm just so completely and utterly shattered at the moment. I did however, speak to Neil Lamb afterwards so he knows the chats and he's given me some tips (and a book). Tonight I got to chillax though by babysitting for my cousins, and spending the night lazing in front of a log fire. Which was pretty swish.

Day 335
Happy December! You may now all listen to Christmas Songs, commence decoration and eat mince pies. If you had done so before now, you are wrong. I'm very happy to now be met with a small bit of chocolate every morning, it's the perfect way to get up on a freezing freezing dawn in Aberdeen (yes I know it's a Cars 2 advent calendar, what of it!). Oh, also, uni is awful at the moment. On the walk hoe tonight I phoned my Mum and cried.

Day 333

After a model making sesh, we decided to have some fun with the big machine that's been sitting at the back of our studio for the past few months, the "Heliodon". You pt a model in it and fiddling about with the lights you can recreate the light levels on different parts of the planets at different times of the day and the year. High tech, eh? It was nice to get the chance to make a model today, I feel that too much of my work recently has been computer based...

Day 332

Look, a massive map of Berlin! And I did this singlehandedly, along with the entire presentation about transport. There are 80 individual pieces of map in this, all lovingly stitched together to bring you the marvel you find infront of you. I also took a stand today and emailed my tutor about how I've done the majority of the work myself. Well, I'm either taking a stand or being a bitch...

Day 331
Reason number 2 for coming home: My Dad's taken it upon himself to cultivate some facial fur for Movember. I also enjoy that this photo makes him look like he has a turtleneck on. He doesn't, just to clarify. I was treated to lift up the road to Aberdeen instead of slumming it on the train (I actually like getting the train, but assed with the trouble of changing at Dundee).

Day 330

Another reason to go home: A few weeks ago, my Mum fell off a ladder while trimming the ivy on the front of the house, and broke her ankle. I couldn't let the opportunity pass to call her "hopalong". I'm joking, I was very attentive during my time here and helped her with all sorts. She's also been off work so I reckon she's about 4 days away from going absolutely mental.

Day 329

I went home today! Finally! I know I was home for Noah and the Whale not that long ago, but I really needed another little trip home, just to see the fam and get my life in order before the final push for this project. On the train I got my laptop out and blasted through my skills task to draw the Barcelona Pavilion by Mies Van Der Rohe. And yes, I did get my mouse out on the train, what of it!?

Day 328

Here's an incredibly incredibly boring photograph. But we were investigating what it would be like to have a room with completely opaque glass in it, because let's face it, you wouldn't want to be having a shower in floor to ceiling clear glass, would you? I also had one of my favourite 57'10 lectures tonight, it was Malcolm Fraser and he just seemed like such a nice guy! On top of that, he designed Pizza Express in Edinburgh so I'm basically required to love him.

Day 327

I'm a good human! Today me and Jonny popped along to the hospital for a hot date and gave them some of our treasured Red Blood Cells (I'm O-, he's AB-, both are pretty useful). But only after feulling ourselves with lunch at Books and Beans. I've pretty much resumed my position as a regular there, usually hitting it up at least once a week. After our donation sesh I went to work, where I served pizza with an overwhelming sense of self satisfaction, which must have rubbed off on my customers, because helloooooo tips

Day 326

Here's an example of the work I can get done now that I have a) CAD b) Photoshop c) A Mouse. I genuinely can't quite believe how far I've come in the past semester, the work I'm producing this year is sooooo much more thorough and good looking! Today was boring. Tonight was boring. Boring, that is, until my absolute idiot of a flatmate went out, forgot his keys and left the oven on. And then got drunk and required me to wander around Rosemount to find him and take him home. Upon coming across him (at 2am) I shouted "GAVIN DOUGLAS, YOU PUT THAT PHONE DOWN NOW AND YOU COME HOME".
I think I may have woken a few people up, heh...

Day 325/365

Beep Beep. When I asked my Mum for a mouse so that I would be able to use CAD and photoshop more easily, this is the beauty that she produced. People are genuinely jealous, I see the way they look at me in studio. Another start to another long week in SB39, but I took myself home early and had some alone time with my guitar, belting out an alright-ish cover of "greatest day" by Take That. Didn't see that coming, did you?

Day 324

Occasionally a photograph from a night makes me laugh consistently for a few hours. This is one of them. Yet another night in Korova was brilliant fun, the longest we've actually stayed there for a while (only a few songs between us leaving and it closing. The perils of going out with old people... ha). Unfortunately, our departure did occur after someone kicked a glass at my ankle (hefty hefty bruise) and while jumping like a 4 year old to "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" Jonny landed on my big toe. However, the best was yet to come with the realisation this morning that Jonny only had his Where's Wally costume to go home in, and so instead of looking really stupid on the bus he WORE MY CLOTHES. Hahahahaha.
And yes, here's a picture.

Day 323

Yet another 21st. Chrissy's turn, and it was a Where's Wally's themed night, which provided great hilarity both to ourselves and to the many many drunken Aberdonians who shouted "found you!" at us throughout the night. Original, eh? Possibly the best part was just after I arrived (straight from work, just for a change) and we went into the Rosemount Bar, this pretty small "old man's" pub, for a drink. The locals didn't have a clue what to do as 20 Wally's descending upon the place. Oh the looks we got.

Day 322

Ahh, despite my best efforts, I was still up until half 2 this morning making the booklets for the presentation today. Which look pretty nice if I do day do myself, little bot of acetate on the front to make them all shiny... The presentation itself went pretty sweet, although I may have just judged it incredibly wrong seeing as how I was completely shattered after my late late night. And the bad thing, this is only going to become more frequent over the final few weeks of the semester.

Day 321

This is a little doodle of our design, which I intended to photoshop into our site image to give the client a rough idea of the form of our building. Yeah, I now have photoshop on my laptop which is super handy, basically means that if we have individual work next semester (which I really really really hope we do) I can just do it a home, and not bother dragging myself to uni everyday. It also means I might actually improve at all the tech-y sort of stuff. Photoshop? CAD? There's no stopping me now!

Day 320

So this is actually our site (see that little building in the middle? Yeah, we get to basically knock that down, bomb it, whatever). I had to go on a little wander before heading to work so that we actually had some photographs of the context before our presentation to the clients on Friday. Work itself was average, pretty quite, but I really like working a Wednesday night, the manager is a full on legend and lets me have ice cream at the end of my shift.

Day 319

I'm afraid we're now at the stage where my photos tend to be derived from pictures I need of uni work, and so basically I'll be showing you the development of our final project for the next few weeks.. This is our section at the moment, showing the change of ceiling height we propose for the bedroom area, y'know, to make it more intimate and all that jazz. Oh, and a shout of to Rhys for being a gent and driving me home from badminton tonight in his brother's absence, was much appreciated!

Day 318

I think I'm dying. I seem to have developed a pretty hefty rash on my chest, and all day I was falling asleep (not literally, but y'know, had a bit of the nodding donkey going on in lectures). However, upon my return to the flat, I cracked on with some project work and for some obscure reason decided that a run was the perfect cure to all my ailments.. Seems I was right, I felt a hell of a lot better afterwards!

Day 317

Ah what a drunken pair. After the initial 'do at the gold club, we trooped into town and resumed our position at the Saturday night stomping ground which is Korova. Then during the day, I actually managed to get a rather hefty amount of my essay written, which was unexpected given that my first experience with Whisky didn't leave me feeling impressed, or healthy.

Day 316

Another 21st? Where did we go this time? Oh, wait, that's right... Portlethen Golf Club. This time it was the turn of Mr Ritchie Goodall, of whom I was treated to a wide array of hilarious photos throughout the course of the evening. The fact that I was working during the day, and Jonny's horrific timekeeping (quarter past 7? More like quarter to 8...) meant that I didn't exactly line my stomach, so after only a few of the golf clubs 35ml measures I was definitely up for a dance. But not quite as much as this lot...
Also, whisky is rank.

Day 315

So I'm going to ask you to guess how long this model took to make! Not the really nicely finished one of the site, no, the kind of wonky one? What's that? 2 hours? 3? Nope, none of the above. 6. 6 ruddy hours. C'mon guys, that's just not good enough! But anyway, our review today seemed to go quite well which was nice, and then in the evening I went to the Wild Boar for dinner, Cranberry and Cinammon Cider and a discussion about life with work-friend-Jenn.
